dnata hosts global travel event in Mauritius as demand continues

Travellers to Mauritius with the dnata Travel Group have increased by 22% in 2023 compared to 2019 levels

Dubai, UAE 6th September 2023: dnata Travel Group, one of the world’s largest travel services providers, based in Dubai, is launching a travel industry event in Mauritius this September hosted by its global brands, as travel demand to the island continues.

Across the dnata Travel Group, part of the Emirates Group, its brands have witnessed a 22% increase in travellers to Mauritius between January and July 2023, compared to the same timings in 2019. The UAE and UK continue to represent its most prominent source markets seeking to travel to the island country.

The travel provider is launching this month’s event to connect with the local travel and hospitality industry in Mauritius, with the aim to encourage future growth in travel.

CEOs and business heads from across its international portfolio of brands, including UAE-based dnata Travel, and UK-based Travel Republic, its corporate travel division, and more, will be present in the country to discuss future strategy and plans tailored to the Mauritian travel and hospitality industry.

John Bevan, CEO, dnata Travel Group commented: “Mauritius has consistently remained one of our most popular destinations for leisure travel. As the UAE’s original travel services provider, we have built strong connections to nurture our travel experts’ understanding of the varied offering for travellers across the island, and to secure exclusive offers to encourage travel from across the world.

“In 2020 we held an online event aimed to support the country’s tourism recovery through differentiation, exclusivity, and collaborative marketing. In 2023, with our new, in-person event we aim to demonstrate our great fit with destination Mauritius and why we should continue to be a partner of choice, as growth in travel across the country remains a key focus for us.”

At the upcoming event, representatives from across the dnata Travel Group – covering all aspects of the global travel industry – will showcase latest trends including current and future technological capabilities for a seamless customer journey, its varied product portfolio including luxury, touring and cruise, and continued commitment to the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. Its senior management team aims to connect with the local travel industry to exchange knowledge and plan for the future of travel to Mauritius.

Organised by dnata in partnership with Emirates Holidays, senior representatives from the tour operating arm of Dubai-based Emirates airline will also attend the event to reveal latest plans relevant to the travel industry in Mauritius. It will take place on 8th September 2023 at Long Beach Mauritius.
