Dubai-based Yalago exhibits at ITB China 2023 amidst growth in UAE travel
Yalago is reporting 115% growth in travel bookings from China to the UAE in 2023 compared to 2019 levels
Dubai, UAE 13th September 2023: Yalago, part of the Emirates Group and one of the world’s fastest-growing leisure bed banks, has recorded a 115% increase in hotel bookings from Chinese travellers in 2023 to the UAE, compared to the same timings in 2019.
The Dubai-based leisure wholesale specialist, known for its market-leading rates, has recorded the UAE as its most popular destination for travel from China in 2023 so far, followed by Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and the UK. Sitting just outside the ‘top five’ are the European destinations of France, Switzerland, Italy and Spain, whilst the US is also witnessing growth with a focus on entertainment hotspots Florida and Las Vegas.
Between 12 - 14 September, the Yalago team is set to showcase its ever-growing hotel portfolio for leisure travellers to the travel industry in Shanghai at ITB China 2023.
Astrid Kastberg, General Manager at Yalago, commented: “China represents one of Yalago’s fastest-growing source markets for international travel. The luxury segment is proving to be the most resilient and fastest recovering. Across Yalago’s top five travel destinations for China in 2023 we have seen a 42% increase in sales for luxury hotels. We expect this trend to continue and across other key destinations, as the appetite from Chinese travellers widens over the coming months.
“Yalago’s base, the UAE, remains a key destination for travellers from China, particularly as the number of luxury hotels has increased across Dubai such as the already iconic Atlantis the Royal. Dubai is truly the home of luxury leisure travel, and as part of the Emirates Group, Yalago has always been well positioned as a key supplier.”
Through its industry experience and global partnerships, Yalago aims to support worldwide travel companies in offering significant savings to customers, with expertise in destinations including the UAE, US, and Indian Ocean – with particularly strong coverage in the Maldives, Florida, Spain, and more, as it continues to build on these destinations, alongside new locations, worldwide.
With a view to further grow its global footprint in 2023, Yalago is establishing and expanding teams in the Chinese market, to increase direct contracting volumes. Already connected to prominent travel platforms across the country, Yalago aims to expand this further, maintaining a focus on quality product.
The Yalago team intends to take next steps in connecting with the Chinese market at ITB China, taking place September 12 - 14 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.
