Yalago: Hotel bookings across Spain grow 19% in 2023
Dubai-based leisure accommodation wholesale specialist records significant growth in bookings for Spain, bringing the country in to its top three most popular destinations, globally
Dubai, UAE, 23rd January 2024: Yalago, part of the Emirates Group and one of the world’s fastest-growing leisure accommodation wholesale specialists, recorded a 19% increase in hotel bookings across Spain in 2023 with global travellers, compared to the previous year. Latest reporting has brought Spain in to the top three most popular travel destinations for the Dubai-based company, globally.
The top five source markets travelling to Spain with Yalago in 2023 included Spain, as domestic travel continues to grow, followed by international markets including the UK, Ireland, Italy, and Germany. Showcasing most significant growth was the number of travellers from China, with bookings increasing by more than 100% year-on-year.
Yalago’s team sources exclusive, leading rates for hotels across the world, offering significant savings for trade partners and travellers, with the Spanish market an area of focus due to a significant growth trajectory since 2021. Bookings across cities including Madrid and Barcelona, and the Balearic and Canary Islands, continue to prove most popular.

For travellers from Spain, the top five destinations of choice for hotel bookings overall through Yalago in 2023 included Spain, UAE, Thailand, Zanzibar, and USA, respectively – with particular growth in travel to the UAE, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Maldives compared to 2022.
Looking forward, demand for long-haul travel continues as the Yalago team records significant increases in travel to Asia this year, including to Singapore and Malaysia. North America is also proving popular, particularly travel to the USA and Mexico.
